What to Expect – Our philosophy at the Okanagan Hearing Centre emphasizes that the solution to hearing difficulties is a process of services, rather than just a tangible product. The process begins with a complete hearing health interview followed by a comprehensive diagnostic audiological evaluation. The diagnostic audiological evaluation is not merely a hearing test. Instead, patients are carefully asked about what type and severity of problem they are having with their hearing.
We customize our treatment plans to individual needs. The assessment of a patient’s hearing involves differential diagnosis of the type (conductive, sensorineural or mixed) and degree of hearing loss. Impedance audiometry is a routine test to complement the pure-tone and speech recognition test to result in not just an audiogram, but a clear picture of the patient’s overall auditory condition.
